Since I upgraded (actually fresh install) to Windows 10 I've been having this issue :

Touchpad works perfectly well until the laptop goes to sleep. When it wakes up, the pointer is frozen on the screen and won't move. Sometimes the pointer totally disappears from the screen. I tried restarting and shut down-start (using the keyboard) and it didn't work. The only thing that solves this problem is shutting down and taking off the battery.

I tried updating the drivers and running the drivers in compatibility mode (right click, troubleshoot compatibility, ticked boxes 'the program worked in a previous version of Windows' and 'the program requires additional permissions') and it didn't work. Hp photosmart c4280 driver for windows 10.

Laptop is HP Pavilion DM4-2153ca (Alps pointing device), HP doesn't list any compatible driver for this model on their website and they even say they didn't 'test this device with Windows 10' so they don't recommend the upgrade. But I thought I'd give it a try.
