Early life[edit]

Halik did not attend school until he was 10 years old. He spend the first years of his life at home reading encyclopedias.^[2] At eight years old Halik listed a 'Bucket list' of things he wanted to accomplish in his life.^[3]

Cosmonaut training[edit]

Halik studied at the Yuri Gargarin Cosmonaut Training Academy in Moscow, Russia. After a number of years, he completed his qualifications and certifications. He was the back-up cosmonaut for the Russian Soyuz TMA-13 flight to Earth's only manned outpost in orbit – International Space Station in 2008.^[8] The expected price of including Halik on the mission to the moon is 30 million U.S. Dollars.^[9]
